Mount Desert Campground Rates & Policies

Our rates are based on two adults and up to two accompanying children under 21 years old.   Weather permitting, the campground is open Memorial Day weekend until Columbus Day.  

We do not allow dogs July and August.  Dogs are allowed when the season is quieter during the months of May, June, September and October.

  All rates subject to 9% Maine lodging tax

Campground Policies

 

Reservations:

Campsites may be reserved any time during the season for three nights or more.

During July and August, waterfront/water view sites require a ONE WEEK commitment (Saturday to Saturday).

Cancellation Policy:

If you CANCEL 14 days or more before your confirmed arrival date you will be refunded HALF of your deposit.

If you CANCEL 13 days or less before your confirmed arrival date, you will forfeit the FULL deposit.

Rules:

The complete list of rules will be handed to you at check in.

  • Quiet Hours are strictly enforced 10:00pm until 7:00am.
  • NO DOGS allowed July & August.  Please see above or our FAQ page for specifics.

  • No RVs/Trailers longer than 20 feet

  • No doubling up. Two couples or two families require two sites

  • Only one vehicle per site.  Bringing a second vehicle?  The charge is $5 per night and it must be left at the office parking lot.

  • A family tent plus one small tent for children and/or a screen house is permitted

Deposit Requirements:

Off-water sites:

$75.00 for each reservation for less than a week.
$150.00 for each full week reserved.

Waterfront/Waterview sites:

$100.00 for each reservation for less than a week.
$200.00 for each full week reserved.

  • The balance of your camping fee is payable upon your arrival.

  • Your deposit will be forfeited if you do not register for the number of nights that you requested and for which we confirmed.

  • Transferring your campsite reservation to another party is prohibited.
